<description><![CDATA[The Revd Mike Cassidy talks to us in his sermon today about the reference in Marks' Gospel to Jesus preaching to the Synagogue and the casting out of the spirits in the man that stood up and challenged Jesus and his teachings.<br><br>In some versions of the bible the spirits are called "<b>evil</b>" (eg New International Version, New Living Translation) and in others reference is made to them being "<b>unclean</b>" (eg King James, Revised Standard Edition).<br><br>As Mike asks us to consider what that could mean to us today, we might reflect on the reference in The Message to the spirits being "<b>afflicted</b>".<br><br>Bible reference today is Mark Chapter 1, verses 21-28.<br><br><i>Note thanks to biblegateway.com for passage lookup and publishers of each of the relevant bible versions quoted </i><br>]]></description>

tortured and how China has seen a huge re-surgence in Christian faith
in recent times with some churches in Shanghai getting congregations of
over 4000 people three times on a Sunday.&nbsp; He served for nearly 13
